Speaking at the 10th Kiev International Economic Forum, Lisky said that the construction of the glass factory in the Kiev region is scheduled to start in the spring of 2025, which is a very complex project that has been in preparation for two years. The entrepreneur is keen to announce construction before the end of the year. The construction of the entire production line has been completed and we hope to break ground in the spring.
According to the entrepreneur, the total investment in a single production line is about 230 million euros, of which about 100 million euros is financed by export credits provided by European partners to finance their equipment.
Liski stressed that the glass factory is a symbol of Ukraine's recovery, so there are no plans to export it. He predicts that producing glass in-house will help the country save up to 200 million euros in foreign exchange earnings per year.
We have to meet our own needs first. At the moment we rely on importing one line of glass, and after the war we will need at least two lines, so we are designing a plant with two lines, which will add another 200 million euros of investment. Glass is a very promising product, not only for high-tech energy-saving Windows, but also for solar panels, the automotive industry and bulletproof glass. We will complete the whole project step by step. In total, this project will cost more than 1 billion euros over 10 years, and this is only for Ukraine." "He added.
Lisicki reportedly plans to invest $80 million in the glassworks project.
